How DCHS Serves the Pets & People of Douglas County
-
Spay and Neuter Fund
DCHS is pleased to be working on a comprehensive program to provide spay and neuter assistance to both community members and to Douglas County Animal Services. We encourage you to be a part of the program as we work to fund it and put it into action! Both donations and volunteers are needed.

-
Pet Food Pantry
Our goal is to provide temporary pet food assistance to families struggling in this economy to keep their pets. Our pets are vital family members and no one should have to face surrendering their pet due to lack of food. The Pet Pantry helps keep many, many animals away from being sent to rescues or abandoned.

The Douglas County Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on enriching the lives of our community members and their companion animals through educational programs, services, and community engagement. In support of our mission, our work will always center on compassionate care for all animals. While we are not a shelter, nor do we operate one, we collaborate with local animal shelters and licensed animal rescue organizations to save homeless animals and provide the care they need to live happy and healthy lives.
We want to help as many animals as we can. We can always use volunteers and donations.
